On the afternoon of Friday 24th June I packed my box of magic tricks and headed off for a short trip to Oakley Hall, a fantastic venue near to Basingstoke, Hampshire. The occasion was for the wedding of Amy and Dave, who booked me to magically entertain their wedding guests during the afternoon reception.
Magic at Oakley Hall
This is a great time for me to entertain as it allows the bride and groom to leave the main group and explore the grounds to get some great photographers, with the peace of mind that their guests are being professionally entertained – and not left to make dreaded small-talk for an hour!
My style of magic enables me to build groups as I mingle around and get people that don’t know each other interacting, a great way to introduce people and start conversation. Of course, as I come back to people again they may be speaking to someone else, so it really helps mix things up.
Although there were some showers, fortunately they didn’t put a dampener on the day and main group photographs were taken before the first shower came. Fortunately the facilities meant that when there was a shower the guests could go inside and the magic continued.
Entertaining Wedding Guests
The shower soon passed and Amy and Dave returned, ensuring they didn’t miss out on the magic – though once everyone was seated for the top table were treated to a few special tricks just for them!
I received a great email from Amy and Dave, as well as some fantastic photos from the day:
Dave and I would like to say a massive thank you for all your time at our wedding at Oakley Hall, Basingstoke on 24 June 2016.
Everyone was super impressed with your magic tricks and I don’t think anyone was able to work them out. It made everyone feel more relaxed and mingle with each other.
Once again many thanks,
Amy and Dave
