Bucket List Wishes Charity Event

It was great to have the opportunity to support the incredible Bucket List Wishes (www.bucketlistwishes.org.uk) charity on the evening of Saturday 2nd July for their Las Vegas themed fund-raising event. The event was held at the wonderful Highfield Park in north Hampshire (and coincidentally it was my second time at the venue in than a week, and only a few days prior I had been there for a wedding).

Bucket List Wishes is a local charity (based in Hampshire), and their goal is to grant terminally ill adult the opportunity to fulfil a “Bucket List” wish. The charity was set up by Gini Hackett in 2013 after losing her mother to cancer. The Covid pandemic lockdowns of course not only meant that the event had to be cancelled in both 2020 and 2021, and of course hindered how they could help fulfil Wishes.

With the lifting of the restrictions Gini made sure that the 2022 Gala Dinner was going to be a big event, and pulled out all the stops to add plenty of glitz and glamour with a Las Vegas theme. This meant not only booking me to entertain with close-up magic, but also having the guests welcomed with Showgirls and Casino tables.

The evening was a great success, and lots of fun was had by everyone in attendance. In fact, I got so carried away I ended up still performing in the reception area long after I should have been at home with a cup of tea! 😉 (Afterwards one of the guests forwarded on a video clip of some mindreading – thanks!)

Though I managed to get a few pictures myself, I must give thanks to Tony Hackett (www.tonyhackettphotography.co.uk) who was photographing the event, and managed to capture some lovely photos.

Whilst mingling it was also nice to see a few familiar faces amongst the guests.

The evening raised an incredible £8,210 – and every penny of that will be used to give terminally ill adults the opportunity to have an experience from their bucket list.
